Net-A-Porter Shoes Hit 70% Off (and Gucci)

If you're a shoe addict, like us, you're going to want to check out Net-A-Porter's shoe selection right now. A large assortment of shoes were given another price cut bringing the total discount to 70% off.

Here are tropical print Sophia Webster sandals discounted to $165 from $550, pom-pom Aquazzura classics reduced to $218 from $725 and these Aquazzura Wild Thing flat sandale are only $176 from $585. We can't believe how many cute pairs of shoes that are just about $200. It really makes you question ever spending any more. As a matter of fact, most of the shoes in the scroll are under $225.

If you get past the shoes that are reduced 70%, you should direct your attention towards these Golden Goose sneakers. They aren't reduced quite as much, but 50% off is still nothing to sneeze at. Speaking of good discounts, there is a whole bounty of past season Gucci shoes also reduced by half.

We encourage you to sort by discount, and then dig for your favorite designers. If you haven't maxed out your shopping cart, you can start to browse the clothing. We did well enough with the shoes-- for today.

The IT-it: Furry Feet

Fluffy footwear become a thing when Alessandro Michele slid a slab of fur into, what's now become, the iconic Gucci fur slide. The new fall collections are filled with furry feet.

We recently spotted, a variety of Miu Miu slides that are all covered with fur. Some are even embellished in jewels and here is a ankle strap pump. Then there is the almost Ugg, Maison Margiela sheepskin fur sneaker-style mule, the Chloe shearling platform slide, Roger Vivier sneak-ery slide that's lined in fur and Fendi has monster slippers, of course.

This daytime look has even tottered it's way into the closets of night-time queens. Proving that fur on anything is worthy for after-dark hours.

Inside Bergdorf's 2nd Markdown (Chanel)

The shoe section of Bergdorf Goodman was a flurry of activity as shoppers took the opportunity to begin the Chanel presale tradition. The current markdown on shoes is 50% off and the Chanel discount is 30%.

Among the Chanel shoes included in the markdown, are several styles of flat sandals, some sneakers and a variety of pumps. Our favorite items in the sale assortment are the classic two-tone nude pumps with a pearl heel. Those are sure to be a sell-out. The next markdown on Chanel is usually 50% and it always seems to happen very quickly. You can see pictures of the assortment in the jump.

Some other shoe brands we saw discounted 50% were Louboutins, Jimmy Choos, Manolo Blahniks, Dior and many more. Here are pictures. Nothing really jumped out at us but there is still a large assortment in every size breakdown.

Upstairs, most clothing brands have been reduced by 60% but some brands like Fendi, Rosie Assouline and Valentino are discounted just 40%. The best selection if reduced clothing is on the third floor. Among the racks, divided by designer, we found some great pieces by Prada, Mary Katrantzou, Delpozo, Mugler and so many more. Pics here.

Third markdown should start next week (maybe Tuesday). We would start stalking items now and pounce when the discount hits 75% off.

The Best Online Deals Now

We have spent a lot of time investigating the discounts at our local department stores. Today we are crawling the web, searching for the best deals at some of the great international online stores we sometimes overlook.

One would think that online price comparisons would be easy but e-tailers purposely make it difficult. Instead of one broad markdown, most online stores individually price items according to their inventory levels. It's almost impossible to nail down a discount at destinations like Ssense, MatchesFashion, Forzieri and StyleBop. Generally the discounts at sites range from 30% to 60% off.

Each site has a specialty or an area where they offer a leg-up on the competition. In our case, we look for specific areas to score the best discounts. Keep in mind, Europe usually trails the US in markdowns. Many global sites have not had as many markdowns, but where they lack in discounts they make up for in variety.

We have compiled a list of our favorite fashion websites along with the discount range, and sale highlights. Please share if you think we missed your favorite site or an item that deserves a watchful eye.

Forzieri
Discounts: 25% to 60% Off
I Spy: Les Petits Joueurs bags discounted 50%.

Ssense
Discounts: 30% to 70% off
I Spy: The highest discounts are Balmain./a> We found a denim dress for $600 from nearly $2000. This Junya Watanabe top is pretty fantastic if you have the fashion personality to pull it off.

MatchesFashion
Discounts: Up to 60% off
I spy: Collection items from newer designers like: Duro Olowu, Talitha, Sies Marjan and Sanayi 313.

StyleBop
Discounts: 40% to 60% off
I Spy: A 70% off section were there are some great items, likely from last Summer. We especially like these Jonathan Simkhai shorts that are $119 from $400 and white Vionnet draped pants for $176 from $590.

Chanel Presale Begins Now

The Chanel sale officially goes public on June 22 but those who are in-the-know-- or are insistent with a sales person--can begin presale-ing on Monday. The discount will be 40% on shoes, jewelry and clothing at both Barneys and Chanel boutiques. The discounts at Bloomingdales and Saks will be 30%.

Chanel doesn't authorize retailers to sell it's merchandise online but we curated a selection of pictures sent to us from various sales people and snapped some of our own. You can browse the pictures here or scroll through some unofficial online items. We are awaiting intelligence on which bags and small leather goods that might be discounted.

If you desire a particular item, we suggest contacting a reliable sales person. Last season, was exceptionally difficult for Chanel lovers because very few bags styles went on sale. This season's sale list includes a very nice assortment of Chanel jewelry. The next markdown usually happens pretty quickly and the discount ranges from 50% to 50% off. Stay tuned for updates.

Best Markdowns to Shop This Weekend

Summer Fridays are officially here and that means that retailers are eager to get shoppers off the beach and into stores-- virtually and physically. There are great sales this weekend. We've listed many of our favorites below.

Take note, the UK version of Net-A-Porter has started it's first markdown. The discount might not be as high as the US site but it's a great second opportunity to snag an item you might have missed. The currency exchange is pretty good and shipping isn't too expensive. The Brit site also has a lot of items that weren't posted to the US version. It's worth a browse.

Moda Operandi Serves 75% Off

This week, retailers started their second markdowns but Mode Operandi is adding even more discounts. Through Sunday, you can use the code MORE20 to save an additional 20% off sale items. The extra discount brings the total savings to nearly 75% off, which is hard to beat anywhere else.

We love that this site is very fashion-centric but it also means you have to do a lot of browsing until you hit upon your personal style. Some items we've been stalking include, a Caroline Constas off-the-shoulder dress that comes to about $200 from $500, this dress from MArch11 is versatile and is reduced to about $400 from nearly $1000 and these 'Gomroll' sandals from Giusseppe come to about $290 from nearly $900.

For those hottest days of  Summer we've been on the lookout for stylish draped pants. We love this striped version from Rosie Assouline or this version from Tibi is a lot less expensive and does the trick too. Even these jeans from Frame essentially fall into the drapey category.

Moda's sale season usually runs long into the season. Final markdowns usually hit about 85%. With fashion this expensive, sometimes it pays to wait.

Shopbop: Extra 25% Off Sale

Just in time for the weekend, Shopbop is offering an extra 25% off sale items. The extra discount brings the ultimate markdown to about 85% off. Just use the code SCORE17 at checkout.

The sale officially kicks off tomorrow but we suggest you dig in right now because merchandise will go quickly once the public is let in. For now, you need to use this link to access the additional savings.

This is a great time to grab a new few items for the upcoming Summer weekend. Browsing through the 70% off section, which is final sale, we found an adorable Cynthia Rowley dress that comes to about $100 from $450. (The dress is perfect for daytime with sandals or nighttime with heels.) We  also love this drawstring cotton dress that's $95 from $400.

Outside the most reduced items, we love these frayed hem jeans from 3x1 that come to $150 from $225, Aquazzura Wild Thing slides are about $170 from $475 and Kenzo espadrilles are about $180 from $240.

The sale ends Friday at midnight (PT). This is the best deal you can expect, outside of Shopbop's friends and family sale. If you ask us, it seems like a good opportunity to celebrate Summer.

International Spy: The Best of First Class

Flying is an interesting experience. It's always exciting, a bit stressful and and sometimes horribly annoying. Like many travelers, I taken to arriving at the airport ridiculously early. After all, it's torture to sit in traffic and watch the minute hand advance more quickly than your car. Just the thought of JFK traffic makes me shudder.

Airlines have gotten the message loud and clear and have made a huge effort to capture the audience of waiting travelers. First class travelers, in particular, have an abundance of indulgent pre-departure options. Noteworthy restaurants, bars and boutiques are making big a big splash at airports all over the world. As a matter of fact, arriving to the airport early is becoming something I look forward to and have started to orchestrate as part of my trip.

Foreign carriers have been ahead of the curve in creating a welcoming atmosphere for departing travelers. Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways and Lufthansa have all poured hefty amounts of money into revamping and modernizing their First Class lounges.

British Airways made a large investment in updating its U.K. terminals and recently announced a multi-million dollar redesign of New York’s JFK Terminal 7. The new upgrades will include an expedited check-in process with private areas for Club World and First customers, completely revamped lounges with pre-fight dining, and new gate seating.

Most recently, American Airlines launched their Flagship First Dining experience, at JFK airport. First Class travelers get to check-in at an exclusive private area of Terminal 8 and are treated to a unique food and beverage experience. All the food and drink ingredients, including the mixed drinks, are sourced locally and the recipes were conceived by acclaimed regional chefs and mixologists. As a matter of fact, the drink menu was created the famed Pamela Wiznitzer, of the popular Upper East Side bar, Seamstress.

We especially look forward to taking advantage of this airport update when traveling to not-so-far away cities, like London. Getting a wonderful dinner, while on the ground, gives you the opportunity to get a real full nights sleep in the air. (Maybe after just one glass of Champagne!)

American Airline's Flagship First is scheduled to continue its airport concept rollout to include Dallas, LA, Heathrow, Miami and Philly. The food and experience will be different in each city and incorporate local flavors and dishes. (We will follow-up once we experience all seven cities and let you know which one is best. Just kidding!)

American isn't the only, um, American Airline to upgrade. Late last year, United Airlines launched “United Polaris” in effort to transform the business class experience on the ground and in the air. The first Polaris Lounge was launched at Chicago O’Hare, in December. The airline partnered with Saks Fifth Avenue to offer an elevated experience in the air but on the ground travelers are treated to private daybeds, spa showers and premium dining. A Polaris lounge is headed to Newark too but there have been ... "unexpected delays."

As a jaded consumer, it's always refreshing to see updates and increased amenities at an airport (or anywhere for that matter.) I'm excited to see the new trends in elevating the airport experience. Now, if someone could do something about that traffic to JFK I would really be trilled!

Neiman Marcus & Saks Take 2nd Markdown

Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue just started their second markdown today. Saks has cut prices up to 60% and tomorrow Neiman Marcus will offer an extra 25% off, which will bring the discount to 55% off.

What's most interesting about Saks is that the store seems to have dug out old merchandise and added it to the sale selection. Over in the Prada handbag department, many bags are discounted 40% off, but we were quite surprised to see Prada Madras that was from the fall 2014 collection. (Wow!) The eighth floor shoe department was overflowing with shoe styles reduced an extra 25% (including Louboutin) but some of the styles were several seasons old. After the whole 2008 sale debacle, it's understandable that Saks is sale-shy but serving customers old merchandise seems sneaky.

If you're looking to sink your teeth into what's current at Saks, you will find a small selection of Valentino bags reduced 30% and 40% off. A small assortment of Loewe bags and Lanvin bags are reduced 30% and then another 35%, which brings the total discount to about 50%. This Lanvin tote in lilac blue is just $700 from $1550. Y(ou can click here to see detailed pictures of bags and shoes. )

Upstairs, in 9021-shoe, or whatever, the racks are brimming with sale style shoes. Saks is the place to go if you're looking for Fendi, Prada, Valentino, or Manolo. The available assortment is better than most any other local store. Again, be aware of old style shoes. You could start a fun game trying to name the season for some of the Aquazurra, Miu Miu and Giuseppe Zanotti. (Head this way to see lots of shoe and bag pictures.)

Over at Neiman Marcus the discounts are set to hit 60% on Tuesday. We expect that bags and shoes will be 50% off and designer clothing will be reduced to 60% off. There is still a good selection of bags and shoes. We suggest you add them to your cart now and wait for the sale to go live. We will follow up with details as the sale unfolds.

Valentino Warehouse Clearance Sale

Valentino's studded shoes and bags have been around for many years but the look is still fresh and modern. A little bit of Rockstud makes any outfit a bit more, um, rock stunning. The problem with Valentino has always been the ever rising and staggering price tags.

For this reason, we were very, very excited by our latest find. Global Fashions is the sole distributer of Valentino in the United States and their warehouse is brimming with merchandise. We had the perfect answer: a Warehouse Sale.

Starting Tuesday, Global Fashions will be hosting a Valentino sale where a spectacular assortment of Valentino clothing will be reduced 80% off,  bags ranging from top selling classics to iconic seasonal pieces will be 50% to 70% off retail, and a wide array of shoes, including lots of Rockstuds,  will be discounted up to 70% off.

Most of the inventory is from 2016 but there are some older items too. We were thrilled to see brightly colored rainbow chevron bags and accessories from the 1973 throw-back collection and brightly colored camo. We snagged a few pictures during a walkthrough, which you can see right here.

The sale will only run for four day. We suggest you head over early. We don't think there will be restocking.  Once the warehouse is cleared out, it will be nearly impossible to find these items again.

Roundup: Sale-ling Along Madison Avenue

Temperatures are rising and so are the discounts. We've collected markdown intelligence from some key Madison Avenue boutiques. Most stores have already taken first markdowns and discounts span from 30% to 50% off retail.

Before making an impulse purchase, we suggest you do a quick review of what sales are online. Sometimes you can find even steeper discounts if you look beyond a brand's boutiques. Many department stores have already taken a second markdown.

Anya Hindmarch
Discounts at the playful boutique range from 30% to 50% off. Before you pounce, be sure to check Net-a-Porter, where discounts have hit 60% off. We especially like the new shoe collection from the British designer, like these colorful slides
Augusta 646-852-6233

Aquazzura
Discounts from Aquazzura are 40% off and we are told there will be no additional markdowns at the boutique. Barneys' shoe department has lots of Aquazzura styles and the discounts are 60%.
Jordan: 347-328-0080

Belstaff
The current discount is 40% off. The next markdown will happen later this month and bring the savings to 60% off retail. You can never go wrong with a classic biker jacket like this one or a more NASCAR style like this one.
Edwin 212-897-1880

Chloe
Under the creative tutelage of Hannah MacGibbon, Chloe has embraced its bohemian roots. Right now, you can find shoes and clothing reduced 50% and bags are discounted 50%. If you want to find the best deal on a Chloe bag, we suggest you head over to Bloomingdales because the main floor boutique is often eligible for additional discounts and incentives.
Caroline 212-717-8220

Christian Louboutin
A large assortment of shoes and a small variety of bags are discounted 40% off. The sale started a week ago and sizes are starting to sell out. There usually isn't another markdown but you can snag 60% off on Louboutins at Barneys.
Louboutin Uptown: Marina 212-396-1884

Gianvito Rossi
The sale at the Rossi boutique officially started on Friday. The discount is 40% off but we didn't see too large of a selection. The sale selection consists of more fashion items from the most current collection and a few iconic styles in various colors.
Arthur: 646-869-0201

Sonia Rykiel
Most everything is 50% off. Classic style bags, non-seasonal merchandise and the capsule collection are not included in the markdown.
Eileen Kasofsky 212-396-3060

Lanvin
It's hard to love Lanvin without Elbaz but we still needed to check in. Right now, you can find discounts of 50% off on select bags, shoes and clothing. Most of the sale selection is the same online but the store has a few limited edition pieces. Bergdorf Goodman currently has a good assortment of Lanvin sale items and the discount is 60% off on clothing and 50% off on shoes.
Devon 646-439-0381 djordan@lanvin.com

Prada
Prada boutiques only do one markdown. Shoes and clothing are 50% off and handbags are reduced by 40%. The discounts at Barneys have topped 60% for clothing and shoes. You can head this way to see our full wrap-up on where to shop for Prada.
Betty- 212-327-4200

Proenza Schouler
The markdown at Proenza is 50% off clothing and seasonal color bags. We suggest keeping a watchful eye if you are in the market for a bag. Even right now the discount is very good but there is usually an additional markdown in July.
Jay 212-585-3200

Reiss
Discounts at Reiss are 30% off retail. We are longtime fans of the brand's jackets and functional basics. We especially love the suede Moto jackets and blazer collection from this season. The brand frequently adds additional markdowns and there are often friends and family promotions, which can make the savings substantial.

Tom Ford
Markdowns at Tom Ford are a straight 50% off clothing, certain style shoes and some handbags. The sale is also live on the Tom Ford site but there is a larger sale selection at the boutique. Bergdorf Goodman also has a full designer boutique and the discounts just hit 60% off.

Barneys & Bergdorf Goodman Discounts Hit 60%

It seems as if sale season just started but retailers aren't wasting any time. Both Barneys and Bergdorf Goodman started their second round of markdowns today. The discounts at both stores top 60% off.

We started the day at Barneys and went directly to the shoe department where we found all discounted shoes reduced 60%. Christian Louboutin only hit the sales racks last week but they still got the extra markdowns. (You can see pictures from our shopping trip right here.)

Some of the most poplular styles include these Aquazzura flats in solid black, Dries Van Noten with interesting heels and Fendi face loafers. Take note, the online assortment is even better than what we saw in the store. The only difference is that we couldn't find any reduced Louboutin shoes online.

Downstairs, in the Prada section, we found lots of great pieces. That pink lips skirt, we have been coveting all season, is now reduced 60%,along with this printed silk dress. You can see pictures of the Prada sale selection right here. The Off-White selection is disappearing fast. Online you can still find a size range of the stripped jeans and roses styles.

Most of the bags are now reduced 40%. We spotted several Fendi styles, Balenciaga, JW Anderson Pierce bags and lots of Alaia. We can't say anything in particular was too noteworthy. Again, the options are more plentiful online.

Over at Bergdorf Goodman, the shoe selection is better but the discount isn't as high. The markdown is just 50% on the second floor. Highlights include a selection of Manolo Hangs pumps, Nicholas Kirkwood Beya loafers, Fendi mules and Miu Miu slides and Balenciaga printed satin booties.

Upstairs we spotted this Delpozo coat that's now about $1000 from $2600 and this dramatic top/cape/blouse/fabulousness is $880 from $2150. Equal in style and markdown is this Rossie Assouline one-shoulder top that's $900 from $1500. A Mary Katrantzou optical print dress is $800 from $2000.

Among the bags are still lots of Balenciaga, Tom Ford, Fendi, overpriced Valentino, Anya Hindmarch and Libertine. Most are reduced 50% now.

Between now and the end of the season there are flashes of additional discounts at Bergdorf Goodman. There will be a third markdown at both stores but that won't happen until July. Don't worry, it's not as far away as you think. The days always seem to fly by during Summer.

Net-A-Porter 2nd Markdown 70% Off

We just got word from a secret source that Net-A-Porter will take their second markdown Thursday morning. The sale includes additional items and brands, as well as, discounts up to 70% off.

📸 @damselindior

The sale section will now include Brunello Cucinelli, Alaia bags and shoes, Johanna Ortiz and lots of Adidas by Stella McCartney.

The discount is now up to 70% off. We expect that the bags will go very quickly once the discounts top 50% and that a bulk of the shoe section will be reduced to 60% off. We suggest you start organizing your shopping list immediately. Once the sale goes live, the site can come to a crawl as shoppers virtually fight to complete their transactions.

We suspect that the discounts will get even better as the month progresses. Just try not to get too greedy. It's not worth waiting save 10% and missing the opportunity to buy something you've wanted.

Inside the Mara Hoffman Sample Sale

We arrived at the preview of the Mara Hoffman sample sale just minutes before  closing and was surprised to find the space filled with dozens of fully naked women. The setting was made even more awkward by the fact that most of the sales staff are men who were, understandably, trying not to make anyone feel uncomfortable.

The lack of changing room space is reason enough to make sure you dress for this sample sale occasion. We suggest that anyone planning on attending this sale to come prepared wearing a camisole or sports bra with booty shorts or leggings. After all, Mara Hoffman is most known for her flattering swim and beachwear.

Prices are nicely discounted but not more than an end-of-season retail sale. Print and solid bikini tops and bottoms are $40 each, one pieces are $75, embellished bikinis are $50 each for a tops and bottoms and embellished one pieces are $90. Sarongs are $50 each. Among the clothing, maxi dresses are plentiful and priced at $115, jumpsuits are $120 and tops are $55. (You can see pictures and more pricing right over here.)

We didn't see anything at the sale from this current season's collection but found many of the items listed in the sale section of the Mara Hoffman website. It appears as if the brand is clearing out it's warehouse because even an industry expert couldn't identify a bulk of the merchandise.

The sale also includes a hefty assortment from the designer's activewear collection. Sports bras are $40, leggings are $60, sweatpants are $70 and sweatshirts are $50. There is even one rack of bridal gowns at the sale. We suppose you can use these gowns as an opportunity to add a wardrobe change during the big day.

Before you head to Soho, we suggest you first look online. Many sites have items priced at about the same if not less. For instance, here is a pair of leggings for $52, this maxi dress is $121 and this one piece bathing suit is $90. We have several more good finds in the scroll above.

We are confident that there will be additional markdowns before the sale ends on Sunday. We will add an update to the top of the post when we we receive additional information.

Inside the Etro Sample Sale

Update: Prices now reduced to 90% Off retail.

The Etro sample sale opened to the public today. During lunchtime the line to get in was about an hour. Despite the line outside, upstairs wasn't very crowded but the wait to checkout was excruciating.

Inside the sale, everything is 80% off. The room is divided equally between men's and women's clothing, shoes and accessories. A majority of the merchandise is a range of skirts, coats, dresses and pants. There are a few tables of shoes decided by style, a few scarves still waiting to be purchased and a handful of bags and other small accessories. The tables in the center of the room are covered in an assortment of sweaters divided by size.

As expected, the assortment is plentiful. The ethos of Etro offers a mature and heavy esthetic that translates better during winter months. The most ornate and elaborate items seemed the most attractive but the retail prices on such items can easily range up to $10,000.

A Mongolian fur jacket is about $1000 from over $5000, a purple leather jacket is $572 from $2860, a fox fur jacket is comes to about $1600 and a jeweled dress is just above $800 from $4100. Some less expensive items include a light Spring silk coat is $552 from over $2700, suede ankle boots are $284 from $1420 and a plaid wool coat is about $470 from $2370. You can see lots of pictures in the jump or shop the items above for similar discounts.

Along the men's side of the sale there are tables of color polos, shirts and sweaters. The colors come to about $50 after the discount and the men's button downs range from $80 to about $120. If you're shopping for your man, be sure to take note of his European sizing. Etro tends to run small and it's always a shame to be stuck with items that don't fit.

There are fitting rooms at the back of the sale but that's another line. Speaking of which, the checkout desk was disaster when we were trying to leave. There were only three cashiers and each customer had a pile of purchases that they were sorting through, deciding on and one women was repeatedly running back to the racks and shopping as the line continued to grow.

We happened to like the assortment of men's merchandise more than what we saw for ourselves. The prints and colors were a bit heavy for a Spring-time optimist. We also have a feeling there will be a markdown before the sale ends on Wednesday. It might be worth the secondary trip if there is another markdown. We'll keep you posted. (For now, you can browse our pictures.)

Prada: Finding the Best Discounts

It's no secret we are huge Prada fans. We don't care that it's not the hottest label, that there is no IT-bag or that it's not the hottest sidewalk fashion. Prada is timeless, versatile and wearable.

This season, the Italian fashion brand has extended it's reach into more retail venues and more online stores. Most notably, Net-a-Porter launched Prada fashion for the first time. Insiders say that sales have been healthy, which makes us generally happy. Now that it's sale season, we are on the hunt for the hottest Prada items for the best price. Here is where to shop for Prada and all the discount details.

Prada
Prada boutiques are offering customers a 50% savings on spring and summer clothing and shoes. Bags are discounted 40%. Historically Prada only offers one markdown. So it's best to get what you want right away. If you're looking for bags or shoes, it might be best to shop Prada's online store. Boutiques usually don't transfer merchandise and the e-boutique draws their inventory from stores across the country. Clothing is not yet sold online.
Prada Madison Avenue: Betty- 212-327-4200

Net-A-Porter
Over On NAP, the discounts range from 30% to 50% off depending on the popularity of the item. NAP actually has some great exclusives, which can't be found anywhere else. For instance, we haven't seen any of this particular style of floral slides anywhere and the difference between 40% to 50% off is only $65. We simply can't get enough of this lips print. The best part is that NAP will have a second markdown shortly. Keep your eyes glued.

Bloomingdales
If you're looking to buy a Prada bag we suggest you head to Bloomingdales where some styles are discounted 50%. The 59th Street store doesn't carry Prada shoes any more and there is no Prada clothing. We don't believe there will be a second markdown on bags but sometimes loyalist points and other store promotions can make the purchase even more attractive.

MyTheresa
Prada is a straight 40% off on MyTheresa but, like NAP, the site did a Prada capsule collection and there are some great exclusive pieces. For instance, this robot print bag is just about $1200 from nearly $2000, here is a dress that will look perfect today and 20-years from now and this lightweight sweater is equally as timeless.

SAMPLE SALES ⛵️⛱👙 for June

Sun's out. Bun's out. It's officially June and we are excited to catch those early rays of Summer. Long beach days and short Fridays. This month's sample sale winners are those filling the need for bikinis and dressing for hot days.

As department stores and boutiques increasingly discount Summer merchandise, the sample sale arena must also become more aggressive with pricing. Look for sales that include in-season merchandise with discounts that top 70% off. You can expect retailers to begin final markdowns of 70% or more during the last week of June.

We've exclusively listed only the sample sales that we think are worthy of your time and effort. The post will continue to be updated throughout the month and remain just a click away in the right sidebar. You can also follow along on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook for sneak peeks and immediate updates. Feel free to leave feedback in the comments section so that everyone can benefit from the 'Spy' network.

This is the first time we recall seeing an Etro sample sale. We are hoping to see major discounts from this famed Italian fashion brand. Stay tuned for a full review and head to Instagram to win a chance to join us for a VIP shopping experience.

Montblanc
As of day one, there was a line spanning an hour to get in...This sale historically takes place during the holiday season and is a great opportunity to stock up on gifts. It seems a little out of step to be stocking up on luxury pens and small leather goods at this time of year. Forward thinking shoppers will love grabbing items discounted up to 70%. The less expensive items tend to go fast and there isn't usually restocking.
Tuesday, June 6 though Friday, June 9
Tue. to Thurs. 9am-7pm, Fri 9am-2pm
260 Sample Sale: 260 Fifth Avenue

Buccellati Sample Sale
Buccellati is one of our favorite jewelry designers and we wouldn't mind a house filled with the brand's orange gold and silver home goods. Usually this is a multi-brand sample sale. We are excited to see if there will be a larger assortment and even better discounts.

British luxury footwear brand's annual sample sale is only one day. At the last sale, shoppers snagged Yara butterfly pumps for $150, booties were $250 and crystal pumps were $250. We expect this sale to be about the same.

Inside the DVF Sample Sale

The Diane von Furstenberg sample sale is kicking off the post-holiday weekend shopping line-up. This morning the sale opened to an eager crowd of VIP shoppers that were no doubt looking to capture a glimpse into the legend of the DVF sale.

As with most sales, the legend is far gone. There are no sample sale racks and there aren't many items from the current summer collection. On the bright side, prices are the same besides for a few small exceptions.  This season, wrap dresses are $15 more than last season and are priced $115. (Last season, they were $100.) We even found this classic black-and-white wrap dress online for under $100 from nearly $400.

Non-wrap dresses are still $100, tops are $50, gowns are $150 and fur and leather items are $200. (That's $50 less than last season for the leather items.) Sweaters are $50, which s $10 more than last season. Just take note, that the cover ups are categorized as $100 dresses, which doesn't seem to make much sense.

A lot of the sale's inventory is from winter 2016. The best items are the gowns, which are located on the far left of the sales floor. There you will find long kaftans, fabulous laced pieces and embellished gowns what are all well worth the $150 price tag. The clutches are also a good take-away for $50 and there are several nice scarves for $30. Sunglasses are more pricey than necessary at $50 considering they are all online here for $40 and are returnable.

Shoppers weren't loading up with merchandise, which is a tall-tell sign. We suggest waiting a few days until there are additional discounts. At this point, you can find more seasonal merchandise at similar prices online.

DVF Sample Sale
Through June 4
Wed—Sat 10am—8pm, Sun 10am—4pm

Disecting Nordstrom's Half-Yearly Sale

The Nordstrom Half-Yearly sale is back. This is Nordstrom's biggest sale of the year. The discount is 40% off most all Spring and Summer merchandise. Take note, the sale only runs through June 4.

Some items may not be discounted as much as other department stores but some brands are reduced even more. Nordstrom is also notorious for price matching. If you see an item priced less at another store make sure to contact customer service and Nordstrom will match the price in most situations.

Since Nordstrom added more edgy designers it's become a great place to find items that might be gone from other retailers. For instance, we are infatuated with Brandon Maxwell's strapless jumpsuit, this Ellery blazer and this Shrimps vegan leather biker jacket. Plenty of shoes are at 40% off too, which ranks the savings near the tops with Saks. Here are the Prada Oxford platforms with hearts, Miu Miu slides and Dolce & Gabbana rose print heels.

There is usually another discount but Nordstrom doesn't usually drop prices below 60%. If you're shopping in the stores-- that's another story.

Holiday Weekend Discount Cheat Sheet

Much of the seasonal merchandise in department stores and online retailers are on sale now. At most of our local shopping destinations, spring and summer clothing is discounted 40% off but the prices of shoes and handbags vary.

Some boutiques are offering even lower discounts than the department stores. For instance, Lanvin and Prada are both offering customers a 50% savings. Below is a comparison chart of Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue.

Take note some designers have still haven't gone on markdown and others, like Louboutin and Valentino, are still on presale. We expect a sale to break on these brands on June 1 but we'll keep you posted. Saks seems to have the best shoe selection and best discount. Bloomingdales still has an assortment of Gucci shoes discounted 50%. You can click here to see the available styles.

Louboutin Presale Starting Now

Most stores have already started their first markdowns on contemporary and luxury lines but there are always a few brands that hold off on discounts. Starting Thursday, you will be able to presale seasonal merchandise from Christian Louboutin.

The discount from Saks Fifth Avenue and Barneys is 30% off. We haven't received details from the Louboutin boutique but will update the post when we do.

Some of the sale highlights include colored crystal and suede Pigalle Follies that come to $1625 from $2345, mesh/lace Follies that are $556 from $795, espadrille platform wedges that are also about $556 from $795, Mia Heart Pumps are $590 from $845 and color block sandals are $700 from nearly $1000.

The sale officially goes public on May 26. Purchases from most stores will be held until then. A selection of much of what's on sale is in the scroll above.

Valentino Now on PreSale

It took a few days but Valentino has finally hit the sale racks. The discounts range from 30% to 40% off depending on the item and the season it was released. (Some stores are still showing past season merchandise.) As we suspected, the bag variety is focused on the very expensive embroidered and embellished styles.

Among the discounted shoes are several Rockstud styles. We find that Saks Fifth Avenue has the best selection and best discount at 40% off. Presale is already underway. The sale officially becomes public on June 1. Among the styles on sale are these classic style Rockstuds in blue (Denim), taupe and blush. The point-toe pumps are available in 'Stone' and a burgundy and a variety of d'Orsay styles have also been marked down, including the basic black.

The bags at Saks are discounted 40%. Among the included styles are a butterfly denim tote, a medium size Lock shoulder bag in ivory and the Rockstud bucket bag. Our favorite is this My Rockstud, which is sure to sell out as soon as the sale goes live.

MatchesFashion is likely to take it's Valentino markdown soon and also has a large assortment. NetaPorter is likely to put the merchandise online after June 1. Neiman Marcus will begin at the same time and the discount will also be 40%.

Net-a-Porter Sale Begins Up to 50% Off

Net-a-Porter just went live with their Spring season markdowns. Like many other multi-brand stores, the luxury fashion site instituting a designer phase-in program.

The designers that are currently on sale include Balmain, Alexander McQueen, Tom Ford, Lanvin and Stella McCartney. Later this week, you'll see the sale selections from Off-White, Givenchy, Fendi,  older season Gucci and many more. The full designer sale  calendar is below.

Some of the current sale highlights include  a Balmain tank that comes in a variety of colors and is reduced to $105 from $210, a pretty pink Lanvin shoulder bag is $688 from $1375 and Stella McCartney cat-eye mirrored frame glasses are $231 from $330. There is also a slew of items from Leandra Madine's Man Repeller collection reduced 50% off and we love this top from Dodo Bar Or that comes to just $145 from $290.

Net-A-Porter usually doesn't wait too long for their second markdown. We suspect the next price cut to come on June 7 and prices will drop to up to 60%. We advise that you don't wait until then if you're shopping some of the hotter items of the season. We know for sure that items like these Off-White jeans or these miss matched Chloe mules will not make it to the second markdown.

The sale calendar looks something like this... We'll keep you posted as we see more designers added to the sale.

Where to Find Gucci 50% Off

The current rumors are that Gucci boutiques and certain department stores are going to bypass this season's markdowns. We can't say we are very surprised. Last year's VIP lists upset customers and was a hardship on sales associates. Although it's a bit harder to find Gucci markdowns we know exactly where to look.

Right now, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdales are offering discounts of 50% off on select Gucci items. The available selection is not the most desirable pieces but some are okay and look rather attractive when on sale. There are about six bag styles in the available sale selections. There is this Lady Web that's $1540 from $2200, which is still available online. There is this GG Supreme top handle bag, which is no longer available online. An Animalier top handle bag is $1788 from $2980 and is still available. Our favorite of the bunch is the Bamboo Shopper bag with the cherry blossom blooms is still available for $1314 from $2190. The GG Continental Wallet is also part of the sale but the discounted version isn't available online.

The shoe selections at Saks are similar. The discount is 50% but most styles seem old. The best of the bunch are the Marmont suede boots that are $625 from $1250, the t-strap pumps with lips that are nearly $450 from about $900 and the cherry blossom rain boots that are $285 from $570. At Bloomingdales it's much of the same plus a few outliers. There is the Marmont boot with a pearl heel that's about $800 from $159, the Querelle high heel sandals that has a buckle for $425 from $850 and clogs that range from $425 to about $500. There are also pumps with a bow for $425 from $850, similar booties for $625 and one of our favorite sale items are the classic pumps with a lip toe that's about $400 from $800.

The presale becomes official at Bloomingdales on Thursday. We are hoping that's when the online selection will reflect the discounts too. We'll keep you posted in the case we hear news about boutique markdowns but we tend to doubt that will happen.
